Meg & Matt {Vancouver Urban Winery Wedding}

When I met with her initially to chat about her upcoming wedding, I couldn’t help but laugh at how straight forward she was about being ‘anti-cheesy photos‘. She chose me, she said, because of my photo-journalistic style. Because I didn’t do any of the normal ‘gimmicky’ photos that so many other ‘more posed’ photographers do. I was flattered, of course!

I met with Meghan at her hotel just after she was done getting ready. She looked AMAZING standing there in the lobby in her gorgeous pink dress. Breaking tradition a little bit- the beautiful couple and I spent about an hour and a half together before the ceremony taking photos. We hit up ‘Crab Park’ in East Vancouver, as well as Vancouver’s infamous ‘Gastown’ neighbourhood.

Then it was onto the Vancouver Urban Winery where guests were already slowly trickling in. This was my first time shooting at the Urban Winery and I was blown away by the space. It was the perfect mix of Rustic meets Urban and Meghan’s decor matched the vibe in there perfectly. This is a woman with incredible taste! The wide open concept accommodated the guests perfectly and the super high ceilings made everything feel spacious & airy.

The ceremony location was set up in the middle of the venue. The archway draped with torn strips of white fabric was sweet and the perfect backdrop for Meghan & Matt while they changed ‘I Do’s’. Guests gathered around (most standing) to watch, wipe tears and applaud the gorgeous couple as they were announced as Mr & Mrs for the very first time.

Special thanks to the many awesome vendors to helped to make M&M’s big day a smashing (and gorgeous) success. Devon Hird, a day-of event coordinator from Fairy Godmother Weddings was on-hand to make sure that everything ran smoothly. Guests enjoyed culinary sensations from Drew Cooks Catering & Indulgence Desserts. The flowers were done by Whole Foods Floral and all the decor was done by Meghan herself. Go team!
